Dental treatment, in restricted sence, means fixing dental defects by means of various filling materials (resins, glass-ionomers, gold- or porcelain inlays).

Resin (composite) fillings are suitable for small tooth defects. Contemporary materials are tissue-friendly and they make possible to restore aesthetics i.e. tooth colour and shape. Composite materials are not suitable for large defects since material wear away quickly. Best solutions for for such defects are gold or porcelain inlays or crowns, made in the dental lab.
